Making a black and white silver prints is a long process requiring the utmost care and attention at every stage. I print on traditional fibre based paper processing and toning prints for the highest image stability.

Prints are dry mounted on acid free, archival board using acid free tissue and with an over matt of archival board. This prevents the edges of the matt turning brown which could stain the print.

Pigment prints are produced on Hahnemühle cotton rag paper using the best inks for longevity. The same archival board is used the over matt and mount.

“Quarried” prints
Digital images up to A2 are printed on
Hahnemühle cotton rag paper using archival pigment inks. This ensures that the colours are stable and the images have a long life.

Taking care of your colour photographs is important. It is best not to hang them over sources of heat e.g. radiators or fireplaces or in rooms with high humidity. It is also advisable not to place them in
direct sunlight.

All frames are custom made by local artisan framers who give a personal service and provide frames that match the print. Glass can be either clear or anti-reflective depending on the particular image and personal preference. There is also a range of acrylic glazing materials with similar qualities which I use if framed prints are to be posted.
